The iQOO brand presents a pair of new iQOO 5 and 5 Pro smartphones. The new items are almost identical in terms of technical specifications, but the iQOO 5 Pro version has an improved camera module, support for faster-wired charging, and rear panel design. This model was created in partnership with BMW M Motorsport. Its back cover is available in black (carbon) and white (leather with stripes of blue, black, and red).
The iQOO 5 series smartphones are equipped with curved 6.56-inch AMOLED displays with a 120Hz refresh rate. In the upper left corner of the screen, there is a through-hole for the front camera. In the iQOO 5 Pro, the display bends more clearly. The touch panel display is polled at 240 Hz. The display supports HDR10 + and has a peak image brightness of 1300 nits. The fingerprint scanner is located under the display.
The basis of the iQOO 5 series smartphones is the Snapdragon 865 system-on-chip. The chipset is supplemented with 8 or 12 GB LPDDR5 RAM and built-in UFS 3.1 flash memory with a capacity of 128 or 256 GB. Thanks to the use of a heat pipe, the CPU temperature was reduced by 12 degrees Celsius. New items run Android 10 with a proprietary shell iQOO UI 1.5.
On the back of the iQOO 5 smartphones, there is a triple camera. It includes a main 50-megapixel 1 / 1.3-inch Samsung GN1 module with an optical image stabilization system, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle module, and a 13-megapixel portrait module. The iQOO 5 Pro version contains the same main and ultra-wide-angle modules, and instead of the portrait module, a periscope unit with an 8-megapixel sensor and 5x optical zoom (60x hybrid zoom) is installed. The front camera is based on a 16-megapixel sensor.
The iQOO 5 model has a 4500 mAh battery. The device supports fast charging with 55W Flash Charge, which allows you to fully recharge the battery in 50 minutes. In the case of the iQOO 5 Pro, a battery of smaller capacity is used - 4000 mAh. But in this case, 120W fast charging is supported. At the same time, in 5 minutes of recharging, you can replenish 50% of the battery capacity, and you can fully charge the battery in just 15 minutes. The engineers have implemented an array of sensors into the smartphone and implemented special control algorithms that control the temperature of the battery and prevent it from being damaged.
The iQOO 5 smartphone will go on sale in China from August 24 in the following configurations:
